Water shortage is a serious problem in many countries. Seawater desalination is an effective solution to alleviate this problem. High corrosion resistance materials are required for seawater transmission pipelines. Super austenitic stainless steel 904L, duplex stainless steel S32205, super duplex steel S32750 and titanium are all in use.
